FINAL THRILLER OPENING!

(watch on youtube for bigger screen, couldnt make it bigger on the blog)

Feedback

We received several comments on youtube and on the social network site, facebook, all were positive and one comment had some suggestions for improvement:

- Mark Clark "No way lee hilton is that skinny sort your aspect ratios out. Make yourself a steady cam for smooth panning shots, plenty of examples on the net. Look forward to your next edit. 5/10"

- "very good editing, and a good homage to saving private ryan at the beginning of the film"
   Smaskakus

- Some good ideas and cinematography. Well edited.

We are very pleased with the feedback we got from the video and will listen to any suggestions for further improvementofor our next peice.

Evaluation

Evaluation of the Final thriller

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Our thriller opening uses several different parts of the thriller genre. I would say that our thriller is an action/ psychological thriller becuase of the Vietnma war scene and the fact the veteran is halucinating in the graveyard. I beleive we did create some suspense and a good story to work with.

I beleive that the editing is perhaps one of the most important parts of a thriller, and it certainly made our thriller a lot more effective and it improved the quality of it drastically. We used short clips of the blood running down the trees to create suspense, which I think it did so quite well. The lighting was also changed in the editing, becuase the original footage looked dull, and looked nothing like Vietnam, so we brightened the colours a lot on the editing to create a more realistic feel to it.

Another important factor in thrillers would be the sound, it can create tension and suspense or create the right mood for any scene in a movie. We were inspired by 'Apocalypse now' for our music choices, using music from the movie, we also used several sound effects in the editing software to create suspense and to use for gunshots/ explosions.

Camera angles and other techniques were used effectively in our thriller, they can be used to do anything in the film, create tension, show emotion or let the tense atmosphere fall. A good example of a camera technique that builds tension is the running shot as the main character runs towards the Vietcong, and the camera chases, this technique makes the audience feel part of this scene, making it much more effective.

The Mise-En-Scene is one of the most important ways to create tension and it is what makes the film overall. We used the blood on the trees to create the tension in the sense that the audience know what is ahead, but the two main characters dont know whats coming. The rest of the thriller uses costumes and props effectively to set exactly the right mood and scene that we were after for our thriller.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

I beleive our media product represents the working class, becuase it is stereotypical for working class people to be regular soldiers placed in these situations. The Mise-En-Scene shows this becuase the main character wears a standard G.I's uniform, which is a stereotype for lower class soldiers. I beleive the veteran scene is also very good at showing this particular class, becuase he has a scruffy appearence and you can see how this experience has really affected his mind.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

We got inspiration for our thriller from several big hit films, such as 'Saving private Ryan' and 'Apocalypse now' this gave us the graveyard scene and insiration for the Vietnam part of the opening. 'Apocalypse now' was distributed by Miramax studios, so we beleive that they would most likely distribute our product in cinemas and on DVD. 'Saving private Ryan' was distributed by Paramont pictures, which is perhaps a better known film company, so they wold also distribute our product, meaning a much wider audinece becuase of them being known throughout the world. Due to the low bugdet we had for our film, big companies such as these wouldnt want to distribute our product, so smaller film companies would be more suited to us.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our audience for our peice, would have to be anyone over the age of 15, becuase this is the certificate of our movie, and it would be innapropriate for anyone under the age of 15 to watch. The BBFC would give our film a 15+ certificate becuase of the violent nature of the film, involving war, and strong langauge later in the film. I beleive our thriller will appeal to a very wide range of people becuase the plot is easy to follow and in todays society, it is usually people over the age of 15 who show more interest in movies, so it has the right certificate. However it is not a family viewing film, which may affect views.

How did you attract/address your audience?

In order to attract our audience, we would use advertisements on TV, in cinema screenings, magazines and billboards. When the film was shown on TV it would need to be advertised after 9pm due to the certificate rating of the film. The opening scene draws in the audience becuase they want to see more of what happened in Vietnam and what it has done to the vteran after he returned from the war.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

The technology we used for our thriller really helped to improve the quality and create an excellent looking final product. We used Sony Vegas editing software for the special effects and editing part of making the thriller. The hand held camera we had was not HD standard but I beleive we didnt need it with the editing software we had, as it improved the quality dramatically.

Sony Vegas allowed us to use a lot of different editing techniques in order to make the Final peice look as good as possible. This would not have been possible without the use of this technology becuase other editing software does not contain these techniques for editing.

Other technology not used for the film also proved useful, for example, we used facebook and mobile phones to contact each other when we were not in class so we could communicate effectivley and discuss our ideas in order to get the most work and planning done. This blog is also an example of new technology we have used, it allows a much easier way to show our work and planning in a much easier format. this is also better due to it being more organised and has a good lay-out. Youtube also helped massivley becuase it is what we posted our thriller on and then youtube also allowed us to post videos onto the blog straight from youtube.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Our preliminary task was a short video clip where someone had to walk into a room and exchange two lines of dialogue with another person. I feel that my skils have improved drastically since this preliminary task becuase ours was quite poor and we had done barely any planning, so we learnt from this and planned a lot of our thriller a long time before filming and were overall, more organised.

I learned new editing techniqes through the use of Sony Vegas, which will allow me to improve the quality of my work and provide different styles of work for my media studies projects. This has proved very useful, along with new camera angles and techniques which will also allow me to improve any future work.

The most important thing this preliminary task taught us, would have to be that planning is extremely important for a successful media product. The more planning we did, the better the product turned out, we planned much more before filming the thriller peice, whereas we did minimal planning for the preliminary task.

Without the preliminary task, our thriller would have been nowhere near as good as it turned out to be, and I am glad we learnt from the experience as it allowed us to create a much better quality of work.

What makes our movie a thriller?

Our movie opening might seem more like a film in the war genre, but we have placed a few thriller elements in our final peice in order to make this film a thriller and build suspense.

For example, There is a shot of some blood running slowly down a tree trunk and dripping off onto the ground, with tension building music playing for the soundtrack. This creates a thriller feeling to the movie, becuase the Audience knows what the two main characters are walking into, but they cannot help them, building tension as the two main characters walk unknowingly into danger. This could also give mystery to the film becuase the audience don't know what has left this blood trail, whether it some creature or enemy soldiers.

As this is only the opening to our thriller, the rest of the movie would contain more suspense and tension building moments.

Saturday 2 April 2011

Behind the scenes, Still shots, etc.

Whilst we were filming the main feature, we brought a digital camera along to each filming day and took still shots of everything we were doing, in order to get a collection of shots for planning.

Here we are setting up a tripod to film a shot of the Vietcong sniper firing at the main character, we used a tripod for every shot except for one moving shot where the camera chases the main character running towards the enemy.

The tripod helps to keep the camera steady and avoids the annoying 'shaky' camera so it will help improve the quality of each shot and the film.
When watching the footage after we had done the filming, the camera had proved to be very steady through most of the filming, however, there was one or two scenes where the camera did shake a bit, but overall I was pleased with the camera use.

Here is an over the shoulder shot of us filming the Vietcong sniper firing on the main character with the rifle. We thought an over the shoulder view was very effective here, showing the scene from the enemy's point of view. We used several different camera angles, and experimented with different angles in every scene to see which looked the best.

The apparel of the characters is used very well and shows exactly where they are, and the equipment they would have been issued to fight in the war, this photo gives a good view of what the Vietcong character was wearing for the thriller.

This is a photo of me doing a moving shot of the veteran walking through the graveyard, we wanted to film his feet walking through so the audience cannot see his face at this time.

This shot did work very well, however becuase we had nothing to use to give a still moving shot, the camera was shaking a bit too much. We could have found something, but we felt it dissrespectful to do anything that might cause problems in the cemetary.

Overall the different camera techniques and angles worked very well, and we were pleased with the end result.

Searching for props and costumes

We had some difficulties finding appropriate props for or thriller becase with it being set in Vietnam, we had no access to original unirforms and weaponry. Therefore, we had to improvise with what we could find.

We managed to get hold of a replica rifle and a wooden gun off our teacher for the filming, and a camoflage jacket, the jacket was used for the second main character, although they did not wear this camo in Vietnam, it was all we could use.

This picture is what they would have worn in Vietnam.

For the main character, I found s pair of green combat trousers and a green jacket, along with a military belt and Vietnam war replica helmet. I also borrowed my friends boots from the army cadets. All this managed to create a convincing Vietnam war G.I uniform and overall looked very convincing.

For the Vietcong sniper, we used a ju jitsu martial arts jacket, as it looks very similar to a Vietcong soldier's uniform and then made a hat resembling a Vietnamese straw hat.

A few extra props included blood capsules, fake blood, a bandage and several playing cards to place in the band around the helmet. This was everything we managed to find for the Vietnam war scene.

Soundtrack for the thriller

I felt that the music in the thriller had to be realted to typical Vietnam war film soundtracks, with well known 60's tracks, such as the Rolling stones, or Creedence clearwater revival. But at the same time we needed music to add suspense during the flashback scenes.

I collected several different songs for the credits and for any other part of the opening that might need the music, these tracks were from my own itunes collection and included:

1. Fortunate son - Creedence clearwater revival
2. Hendrix (Becko) - Vietcong 2 (game)
3. The End - The Doors
4. For what its worth - Buffalo Springfield
5. Clapton - Vietcong 2

In the end we felt that ' The End by the Doors was most suitable to play at the end of the thriller as the veteran walks away from the graveyard, becuase it suits the mood of the scene perfectly so we chose this track for the scene and to play through the credits.

For sound effects in the thriller, we thought it was best to get rid of the original sound during editing and replace it with sound effects that we downloaded, this would provide much more realistic sounds and improve the quality of the peice.

Storyline

The Thriller's plot.

We now needed to decide on the full plot of the Thriller opening, we discussed different ideas and then decided which had the better story and which would be simple enough to do, becuase we didnt want to have an over complicated storyline to the opening of the film.

We discussed these ideas whilst looking for the actual locations, at school and we would meet after school at each others house to finalise the storylines.

In the end, we decided that this would be the plot.

A vietnam veteran, played by my dad, would be visiting his dead comrade's gravestone in a cemetary, the year in this part of th opening is 1988, he walks along and stares at the grave. This gives a sense of how affected he has been by his friends death.
He then sees a person walking through the graveyard, and he hallucinates it to be himself 20 years before when he was sent to Vietnam. The veteran immediately has a flashback to his time in Vietnam and the day that he lost his friend.

The flashback  starts with a shot of blood running down some trees, the remains of an american unit ambushed on the same day just before the main characters arrive. Then the main characters boot hits the mud and we see him and his comrade walking through the jungle, not knowing what is in store for them. Nect thing we know, the second soldier is shot by a sniper in the shoulder, sending him flying to the ground badly wounded. The main character then flies to the ground and begins shooting back at the Vietcong sniper.
With the sniper pinned down, he gets up and runs for nearest cover in order to throw a hand grenade at the sniper, which explodes on target and kills them outright. He runs back to his wounded comrade, but as he tries to help more Vietcong begin firing and he turnes and flees from the scene.

The opening then flashes back to the veteran in the graveyard, as he turns and slowly walks away from the gravestone as the credits play...

Location scouting

We realised that we might struggle to find a good location to shoot our thriller, as we had decided to set the movie in Vietnam, and there is nowehere in Stafford thta really looks like Vietnam, so we went out looking for places that we might be able to use in the thriller.

Brocton - The first place I thought might be good for a location to shoot the thriller was at Brocton, where i knew there was an old abandoned building in some woods.

This location might be useful becuase of the abandoned buildong there and the woods located near by. However, in the end we decided this was not good enough to shoot our own thriller.

Cannock chase - The next best place we could access easily was Cannock chase. The massive size of the chase provided a bonus becuase we had so many locations to choose from, although a lot of groups decide to film on Cannock chase, we thought it would be fine becuase there are so many different locations on the chase that it wouldnt look the same as another group.

We managed to find an excellent location for filming in the bird sanctuary over the chase, just near Brocton. shown in the picture below is where we decided to film, this area had plenty of trees and was very swamp like, we felt it was the nearest we were going to get to Vietnam in the local area and chose this location to do the filming.

German cemetary - Just over Cannock chase there is a German war cemetary, we needed a war cemetary for the film becuase of the graveyard scene, and it had to look like part of a war cemetary, we felt this location was perfect for our thriller.

With the locations decided, we moved onto planning other parts of the thriller.

Thriller influences - Jacob's ladder

Jacob's ladder

Jacob's ladder is a fantastic psychological thriller about a vietnam veteran who is hallucinating deamons after he suffered a biological experiment gone wrong in the Vietnam war. He is battling to stay sane, when everyone around him further falls into the deamon's traps and is taken one by one, he must find the answer to why these things are after him before its too late. The films ending has a massive plot turn that completely changes the whole storyline for the viewer.

The film overall is very tense and builds suspense at key moments. We thought that this movie would inspure us in making our thriller becuase it is exactly what we planned along the lines of a vietnam veteran hallucinating after a horrific war experience. Jacob's ladder suited this perfectly.

Thriller influences - Platoon

Platoon

Platoon is one of the most famos war filsm ever made, it is set during the Vietnam conflict and follows the story of a young G.I's experiences through the Vietnam war. This movie gave us a lot of inspiration becuase we had chosen to set our thriller in the vietnam war, and this was one of the best depictions in cinema of the Vietnam conflict. We watched the film several times and discussed different scenes that we could draw inspiration from for our own video.

The scene shown to the right is when the U.S squad find a vietnamese village they beleive to be harbouring Vietcong guerillas, thye also see it as an oppurtunity for revenge after they lost one of their number to the Vietcong.

Although a scene like this might be good for a thriller, perhaps one from a villagers point of view escaping the Americans, who give chase to them as they fle, we felt that this would be too hard to create.

The scen that had most influences on us would be when the squad is moving through the jungle, then at night they set up camp and are ambushed by Vietcong soldiers during the night. we thought we could do something along these lines and create a jungle ambush which leaves a scar in the main characters mind.

Thriller influences - Vietnam war

Vietnam War

The Vietnam war had a major unfluence for us and our thriller, we felt that this would suit the theme perfectly. The idea of a veteran unable to escape his past experiences of war sounded brilliant to use. The thought of patrolling through such dense, harsh jungles not knowing where an enemy soldier or booby-trap could be sounded terrifying.

I also felt that the Vietnam war is almost like a forgotten war becuase it is not in  many movies, or on TV very often, whereas conflicts like World War 2 have a whole range of movies themed around the war. We also felt Vietnam was a perfect theme for the psycholgical part of the film, becuase of the 60's era, drug use, rock music, and the development of new technology. This all sounded perfect for the thriller theme, whether we wanted to make a psychological thriller or just a conventional thriller movie.

The weapons used in Vietnam were very new and interesting, but at the same time, horrific. One new development was the use of napalm. This literally incinerated everything in its path. But things like the Vietcong's guerilla warfare tactics seemed to be a great theme for a thriller, the thought of fighting an enemy you can't see and could be waiting for you anywhere is terrifying.

The only problem we thought we would have was access to props and costumes for the thriller, becuase we had no access to original uniforms or weaponry, so will have to improvise...

Thriller Influences - saving private Ryan

Graveyard scene - saving private Ryan
I beleive that the opening scene from saving private Ryan is a very effective movie opening. It shows exactly how the veterans from any war would feel after what they have been through in war.
We felt that this scene could be used in our thriller very well, we wanted to show a veteran from a conflict visiting his dead comrades, and this scene gave us a lot of inspiration to do this. The shot of the main characters feet walking is also a good camera angle in my opinion, and we felt we should use this shot in our thriller opening.
We also thought it would be a good idea to have another clip of a graveyard scene at the very end of our thriller opening, again showing how the veteran would feel when visiting his fallen comrades.

Early ideas

Initial ideas

To begin with, we discussed different ideas for our thriller opening among the group, we each decided it best to think of 3 ideas each then present them to the rest of the group.

My own ideas included, a flashback to a terrible experience the main character has suffered in his/ her life and cannot escape the memory. another idea was of some sort of mafia deal gone wrong, involving a chase scene. My third idea involved a teenage girl being stalked by a middle aged man, and she beleives he is folllowing her for an unknown reason, I did not have much planned for that last idea.

Another member of the group believed a flashback to the vietnam war would be a good idea, and that the character keeps halcunating his experiences of the war, we decided to use the idea of a flashback to vietnam and my own idea of experiences the character has been through and he cannot escape.

Thriller certificate

We felt that a certificate 15 was most appropriate for our Thriller, becuase it is an older audience, which is perfect for the thriller genre, as they tend to be aimed at an older audience. Another reason for this certificate would be the films content, although the opening of the film will not be graphic, the rest of the movie certainly will be, therefore a certifiacate 15 suits this film perfectly, as the film will have some violent scenes and strong language.

Apocalypse now movie review

Apocalypse now (1979)
Apocalypse now is perhaps my favourite movie of all time, it is set during the vietnam war, and follows a U.S speacial forces soldier's journey through vietnam in order to find a U.S colnel that has gone mad and is working with camodian natives in his own faction, the government has decided he must be terminated of command and have chosen this special forces soldier, Capt. Willard (Martin Sheen) to do the job.

This Scene of the movie is perhaps the most memorable part of the whole film, it is one of the most iconic movie scenes in cinema history. It involves the air cavalry unit that is transporting Willard and his PBR crew accompanying him, to the Meecong delta. However, the drop off point is already occupied by the Vietcong. The air-cav form up and attack the village holding the vietcong forces, in a massive helicopter borne assault, whilst the destruction rages and the U.S forces annhialate the vietcong forces, the music blares from the command helicopter, 'Ride of the valkyries' a classicla peice that suits this scene perfectly... The audience gets a shiver down their spine as the music builds and builds up to the point when the helicopters fire and all hell breaks loose....

Due to copyright issues, youtube would not allow me to put this scene on the blog so i have posted a link below,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHjWDCX1Bdw
This is my favourite movie scene of all time, it is definately worth a watch.

The music in Apocalypse now is used perfectly, The opening credits song is one of my favourite tracks, it starts slow, with the sound of helicopters flying past, and as a huge napalm explosion bursts through the jungle, the opening lines of the song say, "this is the end...beautiful friend...." With perfect timing, it gives a real menaing to just this opening scene,
The song here is, "the end by the Doors". Throughout the whole movie, sound is used so well, it can build suspense or it could just be background noise.

Another scene in the movie which uses sound effectively, is when the PBR stops along the river at the last U.S army outpost before heading into enemy held territory. This scene shows how mad the vietnam war was, giving a sense to how crazy it could send the soldiers, showing a horrific side to the war. The sounds of echoing explosions, gunfire and enemy soldiers taunting the americans creates the scene beautifully. The soldiers here have all gone mad, due to the mad position they are stuck in, this whole scene draws in the audience to reveal the psychopathic part of the vietnam war.

This movie epic has very little faults, and shows so many different sides of the vietnam war, making this one of the best, most iconic war films ever created.

I will say no more on this movie, as it has to be seen to appreciate how amazing this film has been done, it is most certainly unmissable and I garuntee will be a very memorable movie to watch.

Continuinty peice AS level

Our Continuity peice for media, in my opinion did not turn out as well as we thought, as we did not have the coreect music so we had to use the music we could find, which in my opinion does not suit the plot at all.

-Cast:
Darryle Hunt
Anthony Hall
Josh Fletcher
-Camera:
Ben Hilton

The plot of this continuity task perhaps needed to be explained more through the video, as I think it dod not reveal enough of the story. The plot involves two refugees running from a zombie infested city, being the only survivors seeking refuge in an abandoned building. The ending shot shows a zombie's hand slam onto the window of the room they are hiding in, showing that they have been discovered by those they were hiding from.

We were very limited on time and props in this peice, but this was due to poor planning as we could not decide on an idea for our peice which wasted too much time. In the end the peice trned out ok, but I beleive it could be vastly improved if we had planned it more thoroughly and chosen appropriate music for the video.

for props we used, a replica rifle, a replica pistol and one camoflage jacket, if we had planned the peice more effectively, we could have got together more props in order to improve the Mise-en-scene and add to the storyline of this peice. the props we did have however were good, and I thought they made it look like the characters had been scavenging for equipmen they could use.

We used a few different camera angles in this clip, but ultimately not enough. the opening shot is a tracking shot of the two characters opening a door and running down a corridor to seek a hiding place from their pursuers. This shot is effective becuase it shows movement and you can see exactly where the two characters are running to. The camera shot of them inside the room is goodbecuase it shows both characters talking to each other, and you can see them fully in the shot and all their actions and emotions are clear. The final shot is in my opinion the best in the peice, it is a moving shot from the back of the room which moves up to the window, this shot adds a feeling of being in the scene with the characters, the only issue with it is that the camera is quite shaky, making it seem ameture.

The sound in the continuity peice is not as effective as it could be, for example, the music in the peice does not suit the mood of the scene at all, and needs to be changed dramatically. We should have used a peice of music that bilds suspense and adds the feeling of a chase, and tension in order to attract the audience and have them on the egde of their seat. Also, the dialogue scene is not very effective becuase the characters voices are too qiuet and unclear to hear them enough, making this scene ineffective becuase the audience cannot hear what the characters are saying to each other well enough.

Another problem with our continuity peice, is that it is too similar to what most groups would do for this task, we should not have done a typical chase scene, and instead chose something different that other groups would not have thought of.

Overall I am dissapointed with our continuity peice, but it should help us to learn from this experience and make our thriller much better than this, with more planning and different storylines.

Se7en Movie Overview

Se7en review
Se7en is an excellent film in the thriller genre,it uses many techniques of building suspense effectively and keeping the audience guessing throughout the entire movie, with plenty of plot twists and turns, it is one of my persoanl favourite films in the thriller genre.

The particular scene I wanted to put in this blog is the 'sloth' scene, but due to copyright issues, youtube would not allow me to put that video on my blog, so instead I chose the opening title sequence. The opening titles of Se7en throw the audience right into the plot of the movie, although not known to the audience at this point, the title sequence is actually the villain in the movie and his psychopathic notes.

The camera angles in this scene are used in a very clever way, so it reveals enough to show how mad this protagonist is, but does nothing to reveal his identity to the audience at this time of the movie. The main angle used in this opening sequence is a close up shot, and several extreme close-ups of the protagonists notes and his activities, this adds more and more mystery to this person, who the audience knows nothing about right now, this captivates the audience into watching more of the film, drawing them into the plotline.

The setting and Mise-en-scene in this opening are used effectively becuase of the dark atmosphere it creates and some of the objects you can see in this opening shock the audience, for example in one of the notebooks, there is a photograph of a hand with broken fingers, this image will shock the audience but draw them into watching the film becuase they think they might find out why it is there. Becuase of the lighting in this scene being so dark, it adds a dark, threatening feeling to this opening scene, making the audience feel slightly threatened by the film already, drawing them in further in order to see the full story behind this opening scene.

All of the important parts of a thriller genre are shown just in the opening scene of this thriller, in the scene i wanted to put in this post, i felt the thriller techniques were used more effectively to building suspense, and a scare for the reader at the end of the scene, if you want to watch that scene, search "se7en sloth scene' on youtube, I beleive it is the most effective part of the film for building up suspense.

Overall the opening titles of Se7en are very effective at grabbing the audience's attention and giving a prequel to the plotline of this fantastic movie.

Types of thrillers

Thriller types (sub-genres)

Action thrillers: An action thriller will largely consist of, as the name suggests, action scenes. these will usually involve one main 'good' character fighting a main villain in the film. They sometimes contain a plot that involves a limited time to complete their mission.

Crime thrillers: A crime thriller is slightly different to your average thriller becuase most of the time, these are from the criminals point of view instead of the hero's. These types of thriller's are often based around mafia orginisations or murders, etc.

Disaster Thrillers: This type of thriller is fairly self-explanatory, it involves a major natural disaster affecting the main characters and their race for survival. The main characters are usually depicted to be the average person, giving a more realistic feel for the audience.

Drama Thrillers: These types of thriller are usually slow paced compared to other thriller types, and they often have more in-depth storylines and reveal more of a backstory to the plot.

Horror Thrillers: This type of thriller will contain more gory events and explore the emotion of fear. They are usually over the top when trying to scare an audience but are still effective in doing so.

Psychological Thrillers: These thrillers can be scary and clever depending on the plot. They might focus on a persons mind going mad and a mysterious plotline.

Supernatural Thrillers: These thrillers are fairly self-explanatory, they will mainly involve a main human character who is fighting against something supernatural.

Media in modern society

Media is used in the modern world in a whole range of different things, an example would be Television, the internet and video games.

The most common media elements I interact with would be, Cinema, video games and the internet. Media is everywhere in today's world, from small posters in the street to adverts on cinema screens. The internet is a larger advertising tool than anything else becuase so many people use it, making it an excellent source to make money and for company's to advertise their products online.

Advertisement breaks are on almost every TV programme, usually every 10-15 minutes in a programme, this is the TV companies main source of income, companies pay them to advertise their products on the TV channel after the programmes.
